Max "Dr. Max" Musharoff, MD is a comprehensive ophthalmologist specializing in cataract surgery, medical and minimally invasive surgical management of glaucoma, diabetic eye exams, and macular degeneration in Birmingham, AL at Alabama Vision Center. Dr. Max completed his ophthalmic residency here in Birmingham at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Callahan Eye Hospital and is excited to continue setting roots in town.
Born in Chicago and raised in New Jersey, Dr. Max spent almost 20 years in New Orleans working in roles ranging from various jobs in the service industry, 911 response as an EMT, patient navigator at Catholic Charities, and Neuroscience research with a publication in the Journal of Neurophysiology. His hobbies include exploring hiking trails around Alabama and cooking for his friends and family. Dr. Musharoff earned his medical degree at Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans, LA. During medical school, he served as President of the Gold Humanism Honor Society and the Director for the Student Run Medical Clinic at the New Orleans Mission Shelter.
He received multiple awards including the Esprit de Corps for his dedication to patients, community, and peers, as well as two awards in Ophthalmology in Memory of George Haik, MD and Luis Perez, MD.
