David Lewis, M.D. is a board-certified ophthalmologist at Alabama Vision Institute, serving patients in Birmingham. Dr. Lewis specializes in cataract surgery, glaucoma management, diabetic eye exams, oculoplastic procedures, pediatric ophthalmology including strabismus surgery, dry eye treatment, treatment of ocular trauma and emergencies.

Dr. Lewis earned his medical degree from University of Alabama School of Medicine and has served his hometown and northeast Alabama since 2006. Dr. Lewis has been a Medical Review Committee Member at The Surgery Center in Oxford, AL since 2014 and has served as a clinical instructor at Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine since 2010.

Dr. Lewis enjoys helping patients preserve and improve their vision. In his free time, he enjoys fishing, hunting, and spending time outdoors.
