Caroline Watson, MD, is a fellowship-trained ophthalmologist specializing in refractive cataract surgery, standard cataract surgery, clear lens exchange, ICL, LASIK, PRK, SMILE, ocular surface reconstruction, minimally invasive glaucoma surgery, advanced dry eye disease, neuromodulators (BOTOX® & Juveau®), dermal fillers and more.
Dr. Watson is a native of Louisiana, a second-generation ophthalmologist, and a third-generation MD. She pursued ophthalmology due to the forward-thinking technology, the challenging nature of the surgical procedures, and the ability to regularly connect with patients in a clinical setting. Dr. Watson completed medical school at University of Alabama Birmingham College of Medicine, her ophthalmology residency at Tulane University, and her fellowship in Advanced Anterior Segment Surgery at the Eye Institute of West Florida.
Dr. Caroline Watson has received many awards and honors, presented her research findings at national and international conferences, and she has published numerous peer-reviewed articles in ophthalmology as well as a variety of other medical sub-specialties. Dr. Watson is currently involved as an investigator for several FDA medical trials. As a talented artist, Dr. Watson has contributed medical drawings and illustrations to a variety of medical journals and publications. Dr. Watson is an accomplished surgeon with expertise in performing the most technologically advanced forms of cataract and refractive surgeries. She is dedicated to providing her patients with the individualized care with the goal of achieving the best possible outcomes.
Dr. Watson’s personal time is spent in a variety of pursuits including: spending time with her husband and three children, Cajun cooking, inshore and offshore fishing, waterskiing, and weightlifting.
